Maybe you should have read the book? I like dramatizations, sometimes. But the reading, especially from someone as highly skilled as Margaret Atwood (she’s been considered for the Nobel Prize in literature several times), is something writers should be doing anyway. Well, see it as a learning moment in time. Just carve it out and then calculate how many hours it might have taken you — on your own schedule — to read Atwood’s book. It certainly is timely reading, and I’m reading it now on my kindle. Honestly, I can only read a few minutes at a time because it really starts freaking me out. So consider that it may have altered how you now see the world, and our current state. That’s worth $460, in my view. Not everything is measurable.
