I highlighted “I saw how cruel life could be.” Brian, you don’t have a single, itty-bitty clue how cruel life can be. So this was your lesson in your mid-twenties. Pay attention. There’s lots more and lots crueler out there.

And you didn’t show much empathy for those poor dogs cooped up in that crappy trailer all day — you were just righteous about having to clean up after them. No thought that they were humiliated and basically tortured daily. You could have called the ASPCA or the county about animal cruelty. You must live a pretty elite life — but you don’t get that yet.
