I believe you are right, Olaf. The way the pandemic has been handled here (like, not at all) has just increased the level of anxiety and pure aloneness of our un-neighborliness of existence in the United States. "United," in fact, is such a pitiful misnomer. I've never felt so alone in my life. And I just want to move somewhere I can experience real community - again. I've had it in the past with certain writing groups, and a circle of friends who shared ideas and values. Now we're trying to achieve that "virtually." Which virtually (as in, really) is impossible.
